Daniel Pettitt takes part in the gallery's group summer exhibition, which runs from 26 June - 25 July 2026. The exhibition opens on Thursday 25 June, 6 to 8 pm.

The gallery presents the show "focussing on the frame as extension of the artwork", with over thirty artists exploring "ideas around the artist's frame".

Pettitt exhibits alongside Kelli Ali, Jackie Askew, Peps Barkhan, Stephen Bell, Matilda Bevan, Carolyn Blake, Filippo Caramazza, Hanna ten Doornkaat, Archie Franks, Sol Golden-Sato, Robert Good, Nigel Grimmer, Ron Haselden, Kaz, Jillian Knipe, Sharon Kivland, Anouk Lazarek Münster, Emma Lilly, Andrew Miller, James Robert Morrison, Jost Münster, James Randell, Michal Raz, D J Roberts, Jacob Sirkin, Diana Taylor, Virginia Verran, April Virgoe, Paul Westcombe and Neil Zakiewicz.

Crop Rotation (LIGO), 2025 continues Pettitt's interest in speculative abstraction via an eclectic mix of second-order source imagery. Plastic as a material component has recently come into his paintings, as it does in this piece, with the polymer membrane acting as a physical and conceptual barrier; compositional elements exist on the same visual plane, but are forever kept separate as if they are floating in space or written in the sky, soon to blow away. This mode also playfully complicates and denies the binary polarity of paint either sitting 'on' or 'in' a surface.

An accompanying event, Afternoon Pause: Drinks at The Artist's Frame, runs on Saturday 11 July, 5 to 7 pm. Find out more via Bobinska Brownlee New River.
